Links of Interest

Ipop

Ipop is an organisation based in High Barnet that work with disabled children to enable them to play and take part in social activities along side children without disabilities. They provide support workers to go into after school clubs and playschemes to provide one on one support for particular children. This organisation is of interest to me as I have recently started working for them and the work they do ties in with the work I have been doing with Chickenshed over the last 2 years. I am also interested in this organisation because I feel that it so important for every individual to be given the opportunity to participate in activities of their choice without having to come up against barriers.

St John Ambulance

St John Ambulance is a volunteer organisation which offers first aid support in a number of different capacities, such as big scale events like the London Marathon and the Lord Mayor's Parade. They also have division that are based locally that offer first aid training to companies and also attend community events such as football matches and fundraisers.
I have recently started volunteering with this organisation because I feel that first aid is a vital skill to have as you never know when you may need to put it into practice. It is also good to be part of a group of people wanting to help others and give something back to their local community
